Miami Dade County Commission
District 4 Redistricting Public Meeting
Following the release of the 2010 Census data, Miami-Dade County is in the process of updating the Commission District boundaries to comply with Federal, State and local requirements. There was a double-digit population growth in eight commission districts with District 9 leading the list at 33.1 percent, District 11 following at 20.4 percent, and District 8 third at 18.0 percent.

These changes in commission district population will have ramifications on the boundaries of future commission districts. Over half of the current districts, assuming near equal apportionment, will be significantly different than those based on the 2000 Census data. Featuring Commissioner Sally Heyman. 6:30pm – 8:30pm. TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 20
City of Miami Beach Planning Board
The continuing saga of the Gansevoort and its effect on the neighbors is on the agenda once again. 1:30 pm. City of Miami Beach Commission Chambers, 3rd Floor, 1700 Convention Center Drive; Miami Beach.

Learn about the new off-road Collins-canal hugging path that will provide connectivity between mainland Miami and the Ocean via the Venetian Causeway.  Dade Boulevard Bike Path Project, 6pm. 3rd Floor Training Room, City of Miami Beach Parking Department, 1755 Meridian Ave; Miami Beach.

WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 21
Mayors Blue Ribbon Committee on Bikeways
The conflict between residents who do not want bike lanes and the implementation of the City’s Bicycle Master Plan is on tap for discussion. 2pm. 4th Floor Mayors Conference Room, 1700 Convention Center Dr; Miami Beach.

CIP Pre-construction Meeting for Lake Pancoast, neighborhood
The mayor of Collins Park, Ray Breslin, has been waiting with breath that is bated for this project to finally start that brings beautiful improvements to this historic neighborhood. 6pm. Miami Beach Regional Library, 227 22nd St; Miami Beach.

Proposed terms and conditions for the FPL franchise agreement
The City has negotiated hard to ensure it gets the best terms possible for the next 30-years of this electric monopoly, including the promise of removing abandoned poles and getting preferential treatment from crews when widespread outages are caused by weather events but the question of the franchise fee looms. This 6% added tax on everyone’s bill passes directly from the users to the City, and will be the main topic of conversation. 6pm. 3rd Floor Training Room, City of Miami Beach Parking Department, 1755 Meridian Ave; Miami Beach.

Condominium Workshop Rules and Obligations
