Les Dames d’Escoffier Awards Legacy and Scholarship luncheon honoring Melissa Michel and Olivia Agrenot took place recently at the very popular Smith and Wollensky Steakhouse Restaurant in Miami Beach.

As huge ships floated by the river-side restaurant, providing guests front seat views of amazing naval vessels, Les Dames Miami Chapter (lesdamesmiami.org), enjoyed appetizers of either mixed green salad possibilities or la soupe du jour, which was a rich pea soup or a luxurious mushroom soup. All courses were accompanied by warm dinner rolls and whipped creamy butter.

Besides the USDA Prime steaks, the restaurant offers very copious platters of veggies too.

Entrees choices were especially prepared by the restaurant in order to have the ladies sample the green infused Wollensky salad with filet tips. Alternate choices included the pan seared salmon or free range chicken, served with whipped potatoes and steamed seasonal vegetables.

La piece de resistance desserts included warm molten chocolate cake or slices of New York cheesecake. Guests enjoyed beverages which ranged from freshly brewed regular and decaf coffee, herbal teas and delectable wines.

Al fresco patio dining is presently in full swing at Smith & Wollensky. They specialize in USDA Prime steaks as well as fresh seafood dishes. They also have interesting sides which include corn puree, fava beans, Cippolini onions, Rib Eye carpaccio with lemon oil, parmesan cheese with arugula and tuna tartar with avocado and wasabi cream.
