News: Back to School Bash at Flamingo Park

Rain clouds that covered the sky for most of the day finally cleared up just in time for the end of the summer celebratory bash that was created by the City of Miami Beach Parks & Recreation Department. Over 800 children played, rode and bounced their way through the Back to School Bashthat featured fun-filled rides and carnival games, music by the Miami Beach Teen Club and food provided by the Miami Beach Soccer Club. Parents were happy to close out the summer on a positive note with the fun, free August 19, early evening event that their children thoroughly enjoyed.

“The carnival was a great way to end the summer and start off the new school year,” said Diana Herrera, parent to four children that have grown up part of Miami Beach City programs, “my kids especially love the bounce houses and carnival games.”

The Back to School Bash is just one of the many free events that the Miami Beach Parks & Recreation Department hosts throughout the year. For future events and other Miami Beach Parks and Recreation programming call 305-673-7730 or Miami Beach Parks
