MB Tax Payers Assoc Holds Forum, Miami Beach: Then and Now
Five former mayors of Miami Beach have accepted invitations to take part in a panel discussion on ‘Miami Beach: Then and Now’ this Wednesday at the monthly meeting of the Miami Beach Taxpayers Association.
The former mayors are Harold Rosen, Neisen Kasdin, Norman Ciment, Alex Daoud and Murray Meyerson. All other living former mayors were invited, Schwartz said.
Russell Galbut, program chairman of the Miami Beach Taxpayers Association and one of the nation’s foremost condominium developers, will moderate the panel.
Jared Galbut, association president, said among the topics which will be discussed are the extension of casino gambling to South Florida, zoning, traffic congestion, reform of city employee pensions and streamlining the building department.
The association cannot endorse candidates, but can support or oppose specific legislation and statutes.
Reservations are not required at the meeting on on Wednesay, Feb. 1, at a 5:30 p. m. The panel will be held in the main ballroom of the Shelborne Hotel, 1801 Collins Ave., Miami Beach. It is free and open to all taxpayers and residents of Miami Beach.. Refreshments will be served.
