News: Jackie Gleason Did What?

For years it was broadcast to millions of viewers across the country:

“From Miami Beach, the sun and fun capital of the world, it’s the Jackie Gleason Show.”

And now the venue it was broadcast from is giving everyone the chance to get up close and personal with it.

The Fillmore Miami Beach at the Jackie Gleason Theatre (also once known as the Theatre of the Performing Arts or TOPA) is now offering groups and individuals guided tours of this historic facility.  With a storied past that predates the TV show by the “Great One” (as Gleason was called), it was also a venue that provided patrons over the years with the best Broadway touring shows, ballet and classical and popular musical performances.

From the unique designs of renowned Architect Morris Lapidus to the unique and sometimes raucous antics of Jackie Gleason to the myriad of other stars that have graced its stage to becoming a Fillmore venue with the great musical atmosphere created by the iconic Bill Graham, these tours feature something for everyone.  All secrets will be revealed!

Tours will be given every Tuesday and Thursdays from 1 to 3PM.  Tickets are $20.00 for adults, $10.00 for students and seniors, $5.00 for children 2 to 12 when accompanied by an adult and children under 2 are free. Every regularly priced adult tour admission will also receive a $5.00 off coupon for any ticket purchased at the Box Office window for a future Fillmore show.  Private group tours are also available if scheduled at least two weeks in advance.  For more information call (305)673-7300 or check out the website:
