Who are you?
Danny Santiago

What do you do in real life?
I am a fashion & wardrobe stylists and costume Designer. I work for editorial clients like Italian Vogue, Advertising, TV Commercials, Music Video as well as TV series like Burn Notice, Nip/Tuck and Movies like Sex & the City “Movie 1 & 2, Confessions of a Shopaholic etc.

What do you like most about what you do?
I love what what I do, my office changes every day. I get to professionally partner with the fashion industry top movers and shakers – one day I am in studio shooting with a super model icon and the next  day on set watching filming of a chase scene where they are blowing up buildings and exploding cars. Each day is a gift filled with grace.

How would you define Miami’s fashion/style?
Miami is it own animal when it comes to style, since Miami is such a diverse cultural community you see all types of fashion across the board. Miami is color, Miami is sexy chic, Miami is inspirational eye candy!

What are some of your favorite local style stores?
Aventura Mall – I pull a lot of clothes there for dressing the actors on Burn Notice. Aventura Mall stores offer lots of fashion looks for great prices and you will find all the top designers there too. So there are many options ( stores) to fit any kind of budget.

Does your heritage influence your style?
Yes, being the son of my father who is Puerto Rican and mother Mexican I have that spicy spark in me.

Do you mix vintage with new?
I pride myself in mixing vintage garments with modern day runway collections as a fashion editor. vintage seems to polish off a look for me knowing that a great garment once had a fab history and still is making history today in fashion.

What matters to you most as a stylist?
Working with a team of creative minds that open the door to me of letting me express my creatively. i love to surprise the team with my style fashion before it goes into the hands of another.

Do you consider yourself an artist?
Yes, I am always looking at my world go by and see beauty everywhere, it is a humbling experience

Who is your muse?
My muse, mmmm, I have a group of muses – FAB women that have been in my life for many lets say mango seasons – Lisa Kroger, Teddy Gunther, Billie Madley, Candice Solomon!  Four women that are just timeless, beautiful, and moving art.

What inspires you?
Art, architecture, music, film, vintage, design

What influences you most?
Coming home to my 2 dauchaunds, Limousine and Rudy and being greeted by their unconditional love

Where you’ll find me on a Friday night at 10pm?
At home, relaxing, reflecting on the amazing week that just ended and enjoying time with my partner, David

If you could have lunch with anyone who is famous who would it be?
Diana Vreeland, Pablo Picasso, Frida [Kahlo]

What do you do now, that you did not do 5 years ago?
I will stop in a moment and really take it in, really absorb the gifts that I get to experience with grace

What books/mags do you have on your bedside table?
Vintage Arena, Egg, Viva, Taxi

Describe your personal style like a good friend of yours would?
Day-casual classic with a twist and evening boho/dandy with a pepper of luxe shoes.

One luxury that you cannot live without?
The iPad

What is the latest project you are working on?
Aventura Mall’s Fashion’s Night Out runway show and fashion exhibit, This season’s Burn Notice TV show, Vogue en Espanol
