Who are you?

Jipsy. That’s my birth name. some people know me as Nefarious Girl, but that’s my website.

What do you do in real life?

Luckily, I am a photographer in this real life.

What do you like most about what you do?

I get to document my life for work which is pleasure.

Absolutely love taking photos of?

The moments and/or the people in it.

What do you typically shoot?

Same answer as above.

Where do you find inspiration?

Music, fashion and women.

Who are your muses?

I’ve had very few. My latest is Melody Amezquita. She’s a stylist in Miami and assist me from time to time. Her style and passion about love, music and life really excite me. She’s fearless but not crazy and I like that. My heart will always have a special place for my first, Lara  Coppola Estefan.

If you weren’t a photographer you would be…?

I know there is no answer for that. This is it and I am thankful.

How would you describe your personal style?

Still finding it, but I love motion and color.

What do you do now, that you did not do 5 years ago?

I stay home on Saturday nights.

What dream have you had that you have accomplished?

I’m not a dreamer ….. but I am really and insanely surprised at my first show at Butter Gallery. I’m in an actual gallery and for just taking pictures of people being themselves in the clubs.

If you had to move to a deserted island what 2 items would you take?

A solar power panel computer and sun block.

Something new, that you have just discovered about yourself?

That I can be patient. But that comes with age.

What are your guilty pleasures?

Youtube. I can sit there for hours looking at kittens and interviews

One luxury that you cannot live without?

Electricity. People don’t realize what a luxury it is. I appreciate it everyday when I can get on the internet, make dinner, and power up my camera.

Three Words to describe you?

Homebody. Serious. Ninja.

Jipsy’s Photographs are on display for her first solo show, Just As You Were at Wynwood’s Butter Gallery. Just As You Were was curated from thousands of photographs taken by Jipsy herself from 2005 to the present. A prominent nightlife fixture since arriving to Miami in 1996, Jipsy’s photos tell a story with captivating colors, stories and characters. The exhibit will remain on view through April 2.
