Profile: Kim Rubin

 Kim Rubin, Promotional Princess

Who are you?

I am just a girl who foresaw the explosion of the South Florida nightlife some 20 plus years ago. So I took a chance and started a new venture concept that just happened to take off. Doing what I do has been a defining part of my life. I am so grateful to be where I am today.

What do you do in real life?

Real life for me is walking a fine line between business and personal life. I am lucky to be able to call many of my clients friends as well. Therefore, attending promo events is my personal life. When I am not attending events, I like to spend quality time with family.

What do you like most about what you do?

I enjoy mentoring my staff. Being able to provide my girls with these amazing opportunities to work in the marketing field and watching them use those experiences to grow into independent women is a great side benefit. Our recruiting services also allow me to branch out into staffing full-time marketing positions on a nationwide basis which is really exciting!

What sets your company apart from others like it?

Our ability to think outside the box and keep up with all the newest trends in marketing have secured us success as well as longevity. We are at your service 24 hours a day, which is unique in this business.

What is Princess Models?

Princess Models are the beautiful and vivacious women at Princess Promotions who staff all of our events, trade shows, conventions, golf tournaments and any other event that strikes our client’s fancy.

What celebs have you worked with?

I have been very fortunate to have worked with so many celebs over the past two decades that it would be impossible to name all of them. However, to name a few of the most memorable celebs would be Meat Loaf, Barry Gibb, James Caan, Dan Marino, Robert Downey Jr., and BB King

Any standout moments?

The one moment that just jumps out at me would be getting lucky enough to sing ³Paradise by the Dashboard Light” with Meat Loaf at Café Iguana in Pembroke Pines at an after party in 2000.

What would you never do again in a promotion?

The majority of my events that we staff go off without a hitch, however I never take that for granted. I always stay on top of everything at all times!

Describe one event or moment where you thought, “I love living in South Florida.”

I would have to say that just living here in South Florida gave me the idea for this business. And the growth of South Florida¹s Nightlife is WHY I am in business! I try to never forget that.

What inspires you?

I am inspired by people who have created their businesses out of thin air, as I have. Watching up and comers start their careers and businesses from just a simple idea and growing them into huge success is one of the most inspiring things I can think of.

Who are your current icons or muses?

I admire all strong women in business.

What makes you laugh?

People that say exactly what they are thinking and feeling, without any barriers usually make me laugh. I do the same with them.

Describe your personal style like a good friend of yours would?

My friends describe my personal style as sexy but classy.

What books/mags do you have on your bedside table?

50 Shades of Grey Trilogy

Where you¹ll find me on a Friday night at 10pm?

I love attending and mingling at the events that we staff. But I also enjoy Happy Hour on many a Friday so there are many friday nights when I am home by 10 PM.

If you had to move to a deserted island what two items would you take?

I would take my dog, Lexy and a large cooler of cold beer.

Name one guilty pleasure?

Shoe shopping!

One luxury you cannot live without?

I absolutely LOVE driving my new Lexus convertible.

Three words that describe you?
